12/12/15 was a day to remember in hip hop. J.Cole and his DreamVille team recently released their Revenge Of The Dreamers 2 project and threw three surprise concerts. This was my first time attending a J.Cole concert so I was excited. The locations were Drom, Cake Shop, & SOB’s.

As soon as I found out where the concerts were being held and the time, I made my way to SOB’s. I arrived there at 7 P.M and waited three hours for the show to start. The fans were anxious; some of them even thought Cole wasn’t coming but ,I knew he was because I saw clips from the other shows on DJ Self’s Instagram.

People were skipping others and almost fighting just to get in front of the line. I thought to my self his shows must be crazy from seeing all this love and support out here.
As I’m walking in I see Elliot Wilson walk in as well. I get a spot close to the stage. The DJ is putting everyone in a good mood; everyone’s dancing even though there is hardly any space. I hear screaming and I looked behind me I saw J.Cole walking through the crowd saying wassup to the fans as he walked on stage

He starts off the show with Folgers Crystals, a song from DreamVille’s group project. He really engages with his fans, he talks to them while performing and speaks for the people. He starts to bring out the rest of the crew: Bas, Cozz, Omen, and a new artist name Lute.
These new artist are performing their songs but everyone knows the lyrics like they have been out for a long time. Being at that concert you feel a different vibe from J.Cole’s fans. You feel them relating to every word and every song. He brought a fan on stage with him to perform Enchanted from Friday Night Lights. The fan knew every single world like he was with J.Cole in the studio the day he recorded it.
I thought to myself only a few artist does the things he does and really touches the people. The new artist seem to give off the same vibes. Bas brought the energy performing Lit & Night job. Omen performing his lyrical verse from FNL and his song 48laws from ROTD. Lute as the new comer in the group brought the same feeling and Cozz performed probably one of my favorite songs from the project Growth. Every word and the hook on growth hits home.
I’m excited to see the growth and maturity in their career. If you haven’t heard Revenge Of The Dreamers 2 go on iTunes or any mixtape site, trust me you won’t be disappointed.
